rampage1For all of the households still lucky enough to receive HDNet, it was just announced that “King of the Cage” has partnered with the independent network to begin airing monthly events.

Beginning this Friday, February 12, HDNet will televise “King of the Cage: Vengeance”, which is scheduled to take place at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort in New Mexico.

Normally returning to the Badger state around three times a year, “King of the Cage” is considered to be one of the world’s top MMA promotions for upcoming talent.  The organization has helped launch the career of fighters such as Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Forrest Griffin, and Urijah Faber.

“King of the Cage is committed to delivering great fights while developing the stars of tomorrow in MMA,” said KOTC President Terry Trebilcock.  “Working with Mark Burnett and HDNet provides us with the perfect platform to do just that.”

Within Wisconsin, “King of the Cage” events are exclusively held at the Lake of the Torches Casino in Lac du Flambeau.  Last year, local fighters Sam Alvey, Caleb Nelson, and Jon Friedland were just some of the talent showcased at KOTC.

While yet unannounced as to whether the year’s upcoming shows in Wisconsin will be televised, KOTC plans on returning to Lac du Flambeau in April and July.  If chosen, the events will further solidify Wisconsin as one of the sport’s growing hotbeds.

HDNet, a channel that is known for showing some of the sports best fights for free, is available on AT&T, Charter Communications, Comcast, DIRECTV, DISH Network, and many others.  However, one notable name missing from the list is Time Warner Cable.

Time Warner Cable, which covers much of the state’s eastern portion including Milwaukee and Green Bay, made the decision to drop the channel in 2009.  Click HERE to find your local TWC headquarters to request the channel be brought back.
