NCGA
Tonight, the NCGA kicks off the festivities with its first meet of 2010. NCGA creator Justin “Bacon” Hutter and his Waukesha MMA companions square off against Neutral Ground in Hutter’s hometown.
Tomorrow, MMA takes center stage as the Wisconsin Fighting Championship, Who’s Next Combat Championship, and Freestyle Combat Challenge are all scheduled in their respective areas.
WFC
The WFC will pack nearly 30 different bouts into the Wisconsin State Fair Park in Milwaukee. Matchmaker Mike Carbajal has combined MMA, cage grappling, and kickboxing into a full Saturday.
Two amateur WFC titles will be on the line, as well as two grappling championships. Nationally known fighters Eric “Red” Schafer’s and Anthony “Showtime” Pettis’ grappling games will both be on display for the Milwaukee crowd.
WNCC
Promoter Mike Biddle brings Who’s Next Combat Championship back for the third time on Saturday. Hosted at the Fond du Lac Fairgrounds, a middleweight title matchup between Lukas Bowar and Brad Resop will serve as the main event. A grudge match between Chuck “Diesel” Hoskins and Ron Gordon will also be on the card.
FCC
Dave Strasser and the Freestyle Combat Challenge return to The Eagles Club Marina Shares in Kenosha on Saturday. Looking to make his way back to the big leagues, local favorite Jameel “The Real Deal” Massouh will compete on the card against Jon Paun.
Wahadachi Judo
While grappling and MMA may sell the most tickets over the weekend, it will be hard for any event to compete with the talent that Jim Peterson has accumulated for the last two days of January.
On Saturday, the Wahadachi Judo Clinic is scheduled to take place in Milwaukee. Four top-notch presenters including Gamze Sakgaztlgil, Kate Sell, Josh O’Nelo, and Dug Tono will be present.
The following day, Peterson will host the Wahadachi Judo Tournament at Milwaukee Lutheran High School.
Like the majority of Wisconsin’s weekends, fans around the state have their pick of the litter of combat sports. Whether you are a promoter, fighter, or fan, make sure the do your part this weekend.
