Now returning for the third time, the Who’s Next Combat Championship promotion made steady improvements from the first to second event. On Saturday, fight fans in the middle of the state will have the opportunity to see if the progressions have continued.
With 17 total fights on the card, two of which will be professional, fans in attendance should be privy to an ample amount of matchups. The main event between Bowar and Resop may be worth the price of admission alone.
WNCC Middleweight Championship
Unless an unlikely draw ensues, Saturday night will see the crowning of WNCC’s first middleweight champion. Both fighters will enter the title bout looking to continue a recent winning streak.
Brad “Doomsday” Resop will walk into the cage with a professional record of 3-1. The Unified Martial Arts fighter, who will be competing in his hometown, most recently defeated Tom Metoxin at Who’s Next Combat Championship’s first show.
Besides his victory over Metoxin, Resop has also bested Drew Reed and Mike Aeschilmann. His only loss came early in his career to Dave “Polish Punisher” Kleczkowski.
Resop’s opponent, Lukas Bowar, is the kind of guy that people either love or hate. The ultra confident former Rugby player splits time training between Agallar Combative Systems and Gracie Barra. He too is coming off of a recent win.
In September of last year, Bowar walked through Tim Nixon in only 28 seconds to be crowned the first ever SC Promotions champion. With a career record of 8-3, Bowar has faced some of the state’s best fighters including Sam Alvey and Caleb Nelson.
More than likely, this fight will end with one of the two throwing bombs from the full mount position. Both guys are extremely skilled at using their strength to take down an opponent and then utilizing their ground and pound.
“This should be a great fight,” said Mike Biddle. “These are two guys who are trying to get to the top of this division. While not yet the most skilled, Bowar and Resop are probably the two biggest and strongest middleweights in the state. It could go either way.”
I’m Calling You Out
Ron Gordon recently claimed his first professional MMA win with a victory over Brian “House” Schultz. According to WNCC promoter Biddle, during the post-fight speech, Gordon called out amateur fighter Chuck “Diesel” Hoskins.
Hoskins, who has destroyed his amateur competition, immediately announced his decision to enter the professional ranks in order to meet Gordon inside of the cage. On Saturday, a heavyweight grudge match serves as the night’s other professional bout.
“Diesel (Hoskins) doesn’t feel that Gordon respects him,” said Biddle. “This could be a brutal fight that ultimately ends up being the best of the night. I can’t wait for it.”
Along with the two professional bouts, a number of interesting amateur matchups are also scheduled for WNCC 3. Eddie Neron will take on Jason Tunks, Russel Jackson will meet Darnell Williams, and wrestling sensation Jeremy Maye will square off with Josh Nowicki.
Saturday’s show is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. with the doors opening at 4:30 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets call 920-904-6483.

Bowar? Really? We'll see. I've seen him fight twice against guys at (Racine?) Fight Night and he beat a twig and got knocked out by Alvey. I doubt he's improved at all. |

... Bower KO rnd 1 over Resop. Abe- Bower has been training his tail off, and has improved greatly since being beat by Alvey. Unless you train with him, or keep close tabs on him thats quite the bold statement to make about lack of improvement. Resop got smashed by Stettner, Stettner and Bower train together daily. |

I agree with the sausage king of Chicago. Bower is barely a step up from an ammy. Easy win for Resop. |

... Resop is tough but if Bowar has been training like it sounds with someone who already beat Resop (Stettner respectively), I don't see how this will end anyway but Bowar winning. I love the fact that anytime I watch him, Bowar makes people realize they are in for a really hard fight. Good luck to both fighters! PS - To the Bowar haters, you can't spell properly or even get "your boy" DOOMSDAY's nickname correct. =) |

bout to make some people look even dumber than they already do..... its a tough job but somebody has to do it this is to Abe Frohman matt holzman and the biggest retard of them all (congrats you dont know shit about mma) Camron. Resop i got nothing against you i hope you have a long and fruitful career but you need to rethink this fight immediately. Luke is 20x the fighter he was since alvey. He is going to smash resop really really really fast its not going to be close. after that happens everyone who talked shit please stop following mma in wisconsin youre just making a jackass out of yourself either move or switch to watching ballet. thanks |

Get off of it... Will you Bowarmites let it go and move on with your life? I talked to SGT Peterson (Chicago PD, we go way back) and he agrees that this fight does not bode well for Luke. Copper, I'm not being bold at all. I don't know the folks he trains with just what his results are. From what I've seen..., meh. Resop takes it with intelligence you bronze colored terd. |

One large butterfly sniffer.... "anyone who think resop even has a chance is mentally handicapped"....you sound like a joke and a HS principal trying to catch a kid playing hookie. I'd put a droning-on, monotone, history teacher up against your ill-informed butt any day. |

As funny as you are Abe, you gotta think a little more... You're not giving credit where its due. I think Mike Biddle put together an awesome card and has put together two real smashers in Bowar and Resop. Whichever fighter comes out on top will have some serious bragging rights and should looking at taking on the upper-tier of WI @ 185. Luke is ready. (Btw, nice quibs in keeping the Ferris Bueller theme going) |

2008....Almost 2 years ago When Stettner beat Resop. I'm sure Brad's game has improved alot. Dave, we'll see. Copper and the other dude need to get a reality check. |

... Reality Check Abe? Really is that what you said? I can barely hear you down there. Take your own medicine son. You dont have a clue to what you are talking about, you have already said you dont know what Bower's training is like or who he has fought since Alvey. So basically you are just typing to type. You have already lost any shread of credibility on this arguement, and now you are just throwing darts at the board trying to hit something. Now why dont you go back to your couch, watch a lil Japanese Anime, stretch out your whitey-tighties and grease stained t shirt, and take notes while the big boys discuss MMA. Remember JR, its not polite to interupt. And also, nothing against Resop, hes top notch. If he beats Bower I will be the first to come on here and congratulate him. |

Don't care who wins This is such a hot topic and everyone seems to have an opinion I figured I'd throw my two cents in seeing how I am familiar with both opponents, but do not have any vested interest in who wins. Bowar is an has an 8-3 record and holds a title, Resop has 3-1 record. Looking at it, Bowar should be expected to win this fight. If he loses this will be a major upset for him, and if he wins, he has absolutely nothing gain from this fight other than another belt. It should just be a walk in the park. Resop, on the other hand, has everything to gain from winning this fight. Good luck guys. |

... I'm very excited to see the Gracie school since they are always impressive, and yes sadly, my wife (GASP!, lol) has fallen ill to the Bowar-craze since he got naked at his last fight. Cheering for the guy with the gnarly tattoos, Bowar in the second via submission! |

On Friday night, mixed martial arts action returns to Fond du Lac when Mike Biddle’s “Who’s Next Combat Championship 3” invades the Fond du Lac Fairgrounds; a middleweight title fight between Lukas Bowar and Brad Resop will serve as the night’s main event.
