Over the past two years Domke has established herself as Wisconsin’s top female fighter; in order to test her skill assets on a bigger scale, she accepted a fight with undefeated Bethany Marshall at Raging Wolf VI in Niagara Falls, New York.
The trip did not go as Domke had expected.
After the cage doors locked, both fighters went for early leg kicks. With neither kick landing, the Wisconsin fighter threw a sloppy overhand right that her opponent easily avoided.
With her punch missing the mark, Domke attempted to wrap up Marshall’s torso in order to establish early cage control. However, Marshall immediately recognized the attempt and wrapped her right arm around Christina’s neck.
After nearly eight seconds of the hold being administered, Domke’s arms went limp and she floated to the ground. The referee gave Christina one last chance to prove capable of continuing, but then waved his arms in the air signifying the end.
Before the fight, Domke told WCS that she was unsure as to how the fight would play out. One thing for certain, is that it did not unfold the way that she had hoped.
While Saturday’s fight may have ended disappointingly for the Unified Martial Arts fighter, she was able to experience all that comes along with fighting on a bigger stage. It should be interesting to watch and see how the 24 year old handles her first loss as a professional.
Domke is scheduled to fight next at the debut of Duke Roufus’ and Scott Joffe’s United States Fighting Championship near the end of March. She is scheduled to take on Roufusport’s Dora Baptiste.

Prior to Saturday night, Christina Domke’s only defeat in MMA came via the guillotine; unfortunately for the Fond du Lac native, her trip to New York ended much too abruptly as she once again found herself in the unrelenting hold.
