The Main Event has Sergio Gomez fighting against David Love in what will be Gomez' first fight exclusively in the featherweight division. Gomez who has had two fights in the WEC, wants to show WI and the world that he is a force to be reckoned with, and that he is one of the best 145 pounders around.
His opponent though, is a true veteran of the sport and won't be an easy fight. In fact Love holds a win over Gomez at a previous FCC that wasn't officially reported. Love is coming off of a loss of his own, and is looking to add yet another win to his twenty-plus fight resume'. FCC 47 will also have a featured bout where Antuan "Baby Kimbo" will be tested against Cherry "Bomb" Campbell. Both fighters are from the Kenosha area, and there is a lot of local interest in this matchup. "Baby Kimbo" is a former wrestler, while Campbell is a former boxer; this will be the classic tale of the striker vs the grappler. No matter who wins, one thing is guranteed; the crowd will be going crazy.
As it stands now, Saturday's event will feature about eight fights; four professional and four amateur. Also, Lazo Pavic will be returning to the ring after battling back from an extended absence due to an injury. Pavic's opponent is TBA.
This event is the first in what will be a series of events by the FCC, in what they refer to as their "busy" season. FCC 48 will be coming up in just a couple of weeks, the event is scheduled for December 12th in Milwaukee, so be sure to keep checking back with WCS for more information
Update: It was initially reported by source within the FCC camp that Brian Geraghty would be fighting Ricky Stetner. WCS later learned from Stetner himself that he has no information of such a fight.

interesting but Although Gracie Barra loves competing in local events, we have absolutely NO affiliation with the upcoming Freestyle Combat Challenge. Gracie Barra and Professor Dave Rosenmarkle have never been contacted by Dave Strasser or any of his representatives to put ANY Gracie Barra Fight Team Member in this event, especially Ricky Stettner. We dont know where this confusion has come from, but please be advised Gracie Barra WILL NOT be in attendance at the FCC event this weekend. We do not know who Brian Geraghty will be fighting this weekend, but we are sure it will be an excellent match regardless. |

You have to be kidding Srasser tells a deliberate lie to promote a main event that was never discussed, and WCS apologizes for some misunderstanding? There was never any contact made towards anyone representing Gracie Barra. There has never been a Gracie Barra fighter on one of Strasser's shows. My firend went to Starssers sho at Mixers where a whole 20 people showed up and said someone from Gracie Barra grappled strasers guy and got tapped in 20 seconds. Problem is, he wasn't from GB but was announced that way. So I guess he is also announcing fighters from competing gyms who really don't train there. This stuff doesn't come out of thin air, it was an intentional lie and an attempt to make Ricky Stetner and Gracie Barra look bad. Unless WCS made this up themselves, there needs to be a follow up with why a promoter would make up matches he knows are not happening and likely would never happen. |

... Finally an admision that Love beat Gomez, I don't uppose Mr. Strasser will actually report it to Sherdog. Please tell me why Love didn't deserve credit for the win. Maybe he would have been next for the WEC. He certinly could hve asked for more money. All these years Mr. Strasser has reported a false record and lied to the WEC because he was the promoter and decided not to count the fight because it didn't look good for his fighter. Do the right thing and report the loss and apologize to Love. p.s. read the other article where Gomez can't rember te name of who he is fighting. That's an easy way to avoid the fct that he lost once. Just pretend like you don't know him. The article above has changed several times now because of several lies. |

... Sorry for the confusion, but this situation has been straightened up. Brian Geraghty is now scheduled to fight Godzilla on Saturday. Yes.. The Godzilla. This fight will determine who has bragging rights in Tokyo over the holiday season. This will be the first of two scheduled bouts between the two of them, the second one will take place in Japan and be known as the "Christmas Chaos." Special guest, Mothra. Please no flash photography of Godzilla, it angers him and causes him to use his insinerating death ray. |

... First off, I respect everyone's right to constructive criticism, but the cowards who hide behind their keyboards with fake names, no real time in the mma business, and who use anonymity for the sake hating and bashing another man's success should be given very little credibility. A person with any real honor actually takes responsibility for what they have said, as I (Jameel Massouh) am now, and I don't think I of all people should have to defend anything to the people of this forum for Dave or the FCC except that people read this and some take it seriously and there's been a lot of hate lately for no real reason. After all, someone should set the record straight with somthing actually legitimate to say rather than by using 3rd grade name calling, and hair pulling. Now, it is my understanding that an associate of Dave actually did prior contact Ricky Directly about fighting Brian Geraghty and that Ricky had agreed to fight him by the end of the year and that the intention was for him to fight on this show. I have first hand information of this. Obviously, it didn't pan out for a multitude of reasons but Dave never lied or tried to decieve anyone. Stettner was absolutely directly contacted in the past about fighting Geraghty by the end of the year by one of our representatives and the whole idea that Dave somehow lied to increase interest and ticket sales or decieve the public is ascinine considering that Ricky was never put on the poster or advertised to the general public. It obviously didn't pan out, but saying Dave is a blatant liar is rediculous. Also, to be honest, Sergio Gomez by himself has more star-power to draw a huge crowd, much less adding Brian Geraghty and Laso Savic, so that arguement doesn't pan out either. Was it a misunderstanding or miscomunnication, maybe, but I didn't see Dave intentionally lie or decieve anyone, especially not the fans of his show. The promotional material made for this event doesn't reflect that. I think he was trying to make a great fight happen between two Kenosha gyms which he thought would happen, which is actually smart busniness considering the FCC is held in Kenosha. It ended up not happening and now Brian is fighting another fighter, but that doesn't make anyone a liar and in this business fight cards and intended fights change all the time. But lastly, I'd like to point out that fighters from the Freestyle Academy don't hate online and we actually put our money where our mouth is. We'd fight anyone from any gym on any show with no excuses, against local haters or whoever else there is. And, We have a lot of hungry fighters so I don't see us dodging anyone much less any local rivals so if you feel the need to come hate online, then at least have the honor to back it up in the cage or ring. Also, to the coward named "What ???", the best show this Saturday is the FCC which has an outstanding record of using top-notch talent from all over the state, country, and world. Serious mma fans and general spectators alike will have an awesome time at the FCC, the best and longest running mma show in southeastern WI hands down. You don't get to show number 47 without having success. But don't mistake this post for anything but setting the record straight. I respect anyone willing to back up their words constructively, and who love martial arts, no matter the gym. |
