whispergoodman2Herbert “Whisper” Goodman will return to action this Saturday at Maximo Fighting Championship’s “Lights Out” in Puerto Rico; he will face off against Joe “Chico” Kenneth on the main event of the card.

The event, which will be held at the San Juan Hotel & Casino Ballroom, will be the sixth installment for the MAXXFC.  Goodman will have yet another opportunity to fight outside of Wisconsin.

With a 10-7 professional record, Goodman has had his up and downs over the past few years in and out of the cage.  But with recent victories over UFC veteran Jordan Radev and Shine Fight’s James Brasco, Goodman will be looking to continue his march towards a major organization.

Information regarding Whisper’s opponent is relatively inexistent, but one of Goodman’s corner men said that he has a record of 2-0 under MMA rules.   However, one thing that is for certain is that “Chico” has lost at least once outside of the cage.

Kenneth played second fiddle in one of the infamous “Kimbo” Slice videos that had been posted on the internet.  In the video, Kenneth stuttered Slice with an early shot, before ultimately being bloodied and beaten to the ground.

While no solid scouting report can be derived from such an event, “Chico” displayed a heavy left hand throughout the video.  With five of Goodman’s wins coming by either KO or TKO, the Puerto Rican crowd may witness a slugfest.

Update: Goodman reigned supreme in Puerto Rico on Saturday night.  After controlling Kenneth's movement with a crucifix, Goodman used his strong ground and pound to force his opponent to submit to strikes.  Whisper captures another victory, and improves his record to 11-7.
