... Reese just keeps it going man. Guy's a machine. I wish I could have been there to see Danny Boy fight. I've never seen him live and have heard really positive things. |

... A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the great fans, family, friends, teammates, officials and volunteers who came out last night for the final Gladiators Cage Fighting show. Special thank you to the 50 fighters who fought on the 6 hour mega card. None of this would have been possible without Mike Carbajal, who did an awesome job matchmaking with my partner Duke Roufus, and of course our many sponsors and media partners, including WI Combat Sports. Congratulations to champions Reese Shaner/Waukesha MMA, Kyle Weickhardt/Roufusport, J.R. Briones/Waukesha MMA and Bobby Bernicky/Waukesha MMA. Great job Waukesha MMA, that's a lot of hardware you took home last night!! Congrats to Roufusport Fight Club's 16-1 showing last night, as well. Fans got a nice glimpse at the fine, young MMA talent that is coming up in Southeastern Wisconsin right now. With Wisconsin's MMA Safety Act sailing through the various hearings, committee meetings and votes, I am proud of the direction we are all headed. Regulation of Mixed Martial Arts in our state will bring respect, and along with respect, it brings responsibility. A responsibility to represent the sport with class and professionalism and to treat your fellow fighters with the mutual respect combat sport fighting is based on. Amateur and pros alike are the ambassadors of America's fastest growing sport, and everyone must recognize the importance of acting like PROFESSIONALS at all times. Fighters or teams that have trouble with this simple concept will find themselves not being invited back as there are far too many others who do "get it." Look for some big and exciting things coming in 2010 as we move into a new era in MMA sports promotion. It has been a great run!! Maximas ago vobis gratias ... and yes, I agree, "def by." was confusing when I first started reading the results... |
