Wisconsin Combat Sports has learned that a potential bout between Wilson Gouveia and Roufusport regular Alan "The Talent" Belcher is very close to being finalized for UFC 107.
According to sources, both sides have agreed to the fight, but it has yet to officially be announced by the UFC.
The fight, which would undoubtedly be scheduled for the main card, would take place on December 12, in Memphis, Tennessee.
If the fight does come to fruition, it would be extremely important for both competitors. Gouveia is coming off of a third round TKO to Nate "The Great" Marquardt.
Like Gouveia, "The Talent" is also attempting to get back on the winning track. He lost a controversial decision at UFC 100 against Yoshihiro Akiyama.
With the addition of Gouveia and Belcher, UFC 107 would become one of the year's strongest cards, even with the cancellation of "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans blockbuster fight.
Unofficially, the card would include a championship bout between B.J. Penn and Diego Sanchez, battles between Kenny Florian and Clay Guida, Thiago Alves and Paulo Thiago, Frank Mir and Chiek Kongo, and the hopeful bout with Alan Belcher and Wilson Gouveia.
