img_1244While there may not be any MMA shows this weekend, there are still plenty of ways to get your fighting fix. The Gracie Barra Belt Black Seminar, WCS' Statewide Open Mat at Matamoros gym, and Combat Corner's UFC Undisputed tournament will all take place this Saturday.

WCS Open Mat

The first of the three events, WCS' Open Mat at Matamoros gym, will begin at noon in Bayview and is free to everyone. The open mat will be the sixth in a series of twelve. The previous open mats have been a huge success.

The open mat will be hosted by Henry Matamoros and Omar Choudhury. Matamoros currently holds a black belt in BJJ under Pedro Sauer. The event is ideal for anyone who looks to get some fresh partners to roll with.

Brian Davis Seminar

The second event is the Gracie Barra Black Belt Seminar and belt promotion. The seminar will begin at 1pm and end at 5pm. It will be instructed by Brian Davis. Davis, a Black Belt under Carlos Gracie Jr., is known for his top-level jiu jitsu and is the head instructor at Gracie Barra Arkansas.

There will be belt testing throughout the seminar, and at the conclusion, there will be belt promotions and a barbeque. Davis has vowed that, "everyone, white to black belt, will be able to take something away from the seminar to add to their arsenal."

UFC Undisputed Tournament

The third event that will take place this weekend is a "UFC Undisputed" video game tournament that is open to all ages and

all skill levels. The tournament will start at 3:00 pm at the Combat Corner Fight Shop in West Allis.

There will be a tournament for both the Playstation 3 and the XBOX 360 systems. Champions of both tournaments will win a $50 gift card and the entry fee will only be $5. The event will be a great opportunity to whoop some guys that could embarrass you in a real cage.

Be sure to check out some of the combat sports events taking place within the community this weekend!
