Best of 2007There was a time before time. A time before light, before warmth, before history. Chaos ruled the earth, and there was no order, no joy or happiness.

Then a man said, “Let there be light” and there was.

Animals emerged from the deepest caves, flowers budded and grew, and there was peace and harmony in the world.

That man was Gabe, and at his side stood his like-minded associate, Luke. Soon after others followed: Tyler, Dom, then Perry, then Nate, and more.

And thus, Wicombatsports.com was born.

I don’t know how we lived without Wicombatsports.com – before its existence there was naught but chaos, confusion and disorder. But now, oh, now, we can check daily (!) for fresh content, videos, tips and techniques, and sweet conversations on the awesome message board! I hate to think of life before Wicombatsports.com and I know you do, too.

So now we’d like to give you more. I know, I know, we’ve done enough already – but we’re not done yet! This Saturday (February 2nd, 2008), we’re bringing you the first annual Wicombatsports.com Best of 2007 awards! Eleven categories, created by us, nominated by you (fans and pros), voted on by a panel of expert judges (also known as the Wicombatsports.com staff).

Here’s the specs:

Wisconsin Combat Sports “Best of 2007” Awards Ceremony

Date:
Saturday, February 2nd
Time: 8:30pm to 2:30am
(UFC 81 starts at 9:00 and awards presentation at midnight)
Location: Fanatics - 185 N Jefferson St, Milwaukee, WI 53202
(Downtown Milwaukee – 3rd Ward)
Drink Specials: $7 Domestic Pitchers
(this is a great deal for Downtown MKE on a Sat.)

Cover Charge: $10 – I know it sucks (We tried our hardest to do away with this) but the location is worth it, and you get to see the fights on a 105” HD projection screen, too!

Come see who will win the coveted awards and watch Roufus-trained Alan Belcher compete in UFC 81 in the sickest and most comfortable venue in Wisconsin.  You can see the Full Card Here

What about frenchmen or Fogles (as in the family of Jared from the Subway commercials)?

And Andrea...at least you had a good excuse for missing class...

It was a mistake in deed that he was not included on the original list. Instead of pulling the extra person we voted on 5 instead of 4.

I think Tom is the best pound for pound grappler in the state, so he definately belongs on the list. He medaled in a bunch of big tournies in 2006. Did not know he competed this year though. Paying for tournaments versus booze is a tough call for Tom, haha...

tom always does like 6 divisions at each tournament.... GI, NOGI, Masters:GI/NOGI, Absolute, etc... which is good. It's funny to see him roll cuz he's such a goof
