One of the UFC's most promising fighters, Mike "Quick" Swick, almost made it to a title fight against Anderson Silva. The Houston, Texas native put together five wins in a row, four of which ended in the first round, and the last of which was over another title contender in David Louiseau. Enter: Yushin Okami, the top-ranked middleweight, known for his size and strength. Swick says he barely cut weight fighting as a middleweight, and against Okami, the
size disadvantage was clear.

Tonight, on UFC: Fight Night 12, Swick makes his debut at 170 lbs, a move that he says he intended to make a long time ago, but instead kept accepting fights against high profile middleweights. His newest opponent, Josh Burkman, is a UFC veteran with a decent record, and seems to fit well into the role of "gatekeeper." It should also be noted, however, that before he lost to UFC powerhouse Jon Fitch, Burkman's career was a lot more fast-paced. The "People's Champ" seems perfectly capable of a breakout performance.
Also, an army of former TUF cast members invade tonight's "free fights", including Gray Maynard, Cole Miller, Corey Hill, and the winner of TUF 5, Nate Diaz.

Mike Swick Vs. Josh Burkman
Patrick Cote Vs. Andrew McFedries
Alvin Robinson Vs. Nathan Diaz
Michihiro Omigawa Vs. Thiago Tavares
Alberto Crane Vs. Kurt Pellegrino
Dennis Siver Vs. Gray Maynard
Jeremy Stephens Vs. Cole Miller
Joe Veres Vs. Cory Hill
Justin Buchholz Vs. Matt Wiman

Nate Diaz ain't no bitch! Neither is his brother, always remember that!

The Diaz's remind a lot of the guys I hung out with when I was young, hood as hell and ready to scrap!!

I hope Swick gets punished, although I'm not a fan of Burkman either. I just don't like that idea of ooh I got beat at this weight let me drop down to the next!
