Wisconsin Combat Sports is proud to announce the revised and updated Gladiators 49: Warriors card. There have been a few minor changes to the card but the main events remain the same. Three title fights will be on the card including the return of UFC veteran Eric Schafer. Schafer will face off in the main event against Hammer House fighter Rob “The Bullrider” Wince for the Gladiators Light Heavyweight Championship. Fresh off his first round triangle choke victory last Saturday, Gary Schaumberg will return to action to defend his 145lb featherweight title against undefeated Seth Marquez of Madison, Wisconsin in the co-main event. In the heavyweight division Reese “Old Man” Shaner will fight Horace “The Real Deal” Craft for the newly created Gladiators Fighting Wisconsin State Heavyweight Championship title. Shaner is riding a six-fight winning streak and looks to bring home the belt to his new gym, Waukesha MMA. This Warriors card contains 25 bouts, 50 combatants, 12 professional fights, 11 amateur fights, and 2 submission grappling matches. In the upcoming weeks prior to the event, Wisconsin Combat Sports will take in-depth looks at several match-ups and interview fighters from gyms all over the area. The full card is below the fold. ... The Heavy weight is titled "Gladiators Fighting Wisconsin State Heavyweight Championship" While the other title fights are just "Gladiators Fighting Light Heavyweight Championship" etc Is this a different sort of belt/fight? |

... Amish, below is a quote from Duke in the forum: "We have a new concept with Gladiators Wisconsin Belt between Horace Craft & Reese Shaner. Horace really pushed for this fight hard. We expect this fight to be heated battle for local pride & bragging rights. We are looking to crown more WI Champs in MMA, Muay Thai & Submission Grappling. No word yet as to if the submission grappling matches are going to be for belts too or if there will be Muaythai titles on the line in the March show. |
